The Spin Academy

The Spin Academy has been developed to better support rising spin bowlers and aid them on their development journey. Led by former England International spin bowler, Peter Such, the Spin Academy comprises of a 12 month programme to immerse yourself in the art of spin bowling with face-to-face sessions conducted during the off-season and remote support and contact throughout the summer. The mission of the spin academy is for participants to become the best spin bowling version of themselves.

The Core of the Programme:

  • Develop technique to deliver spin consistently
  • Become tactically ‘more savvy’ to make best use of talents in red and white ball competition
  • Working on craft and variations to become a more skilful spin bowler
  • Looking at the mental attributes needed to succeed in spin bowling
  • Training in a way that develops the movement patterns that support spin and a consistent action

Further Information

The Academy is based at the Hertfordshire and Essex Cricket Centre (HECC), a purpose built Cricket Centre conveniently located close to the m25, m11 & Stansted Airport. The HECC has facilities that are second only to those of the National Cricket Performance Centre at Loughborough University. Places are limited, you will need to be available for the above dates and be able to travel to HECC for the face-to-face sessions. In addition to the coaching sessions and remote contact, you will receive a branded full training kit package supplied by the Spin Academy.
