'JDS and S21 gatecrashes the summer party'
"This winter has seen the large expansion of all
HECCSports youth coaching. During the winter of
2008/9, our first winter, the weekly numbers of
committed cricketers that attended JDS 1-4 and
Squad 21 reached approximately 20-30. This
winter we have seen the squads swell to the
combined numbers of around 80 boys and girls,
each enjoying their training and developing
well. We have also seen a greater intake of the
5-7 yr old age range would you believe it we now
have a 3 year old on JDS 1.
As a direct result we are extending all of our
squad sessions into Term 3 which all start right
after Easter. If all goes to plan we will also
have a huge grassed area outside which we can
use when the sun is shining... and if it rains
who cares, we can pop inside!!!!
If you have not yet come to see us then please
do and to all that have been with us through the
winter we thank you for your custom and hope to
see you all during the summer."

Winners Ware OH on hunt!!! This years
indoor league saw new winners in Ware CC. They
began the season by beating last years champions
Sawbridgeworth and followed that up by beating
eventual runners up Matching Green. A further 4
wins and everything looked comfortable until a
tie with Newport opened the door for Harlow,
Matching Green and Newport to upset the odds. In
the end comfortable wins against Harlow and
Eastons meant that defeat against Potter Street
in the final game didn't matter and Ware take
the hopes of Hertfordshire into the national
competition, where they begin with a tie away at
Middlesex. Top run scorers this year were: Tom
Fairweather (Newport) 275, Simon Hartnell
(Matching Green) 270, Jay Webster (Ware) 232 and
L. Close (JenningsBet Millers) 209. Top wicket
takers were: Charlie Harvey (Broxbourne) 8, Rob
Jones (Matching Green) 7 and Amar Ali (Potter
Street), Simon Hartnell (Matching Green), Aaron
Pledger and G. Dann (Newport) all with 6.
Ware OH are now due to play the Middlesex champs
in the national , date still to be announced.
Good luck boys, bring home the silverware!
